Time for a Nap

What an eventful 30 minutes last Friday. It all started with a cute and sleepy little girl. Then came the major diaper blow-out, the bath, the second and then third dirty diapers, clean sheets on the crib, 2 loads of laundry in the wash, and finally a clean and very happy Heather. Phew...glad that's over. Now time to take a nap.

Bowling

This was an eventful week for Miss Heather. She finally got to meet Aunt Britni, she outgrew most of her clothes and got a wardrobe makeover, and she experienced the fun of bowling and arcade games.

Meeting Aunt Britni.

 Practicing her reading skills.

Bowling at Boondocks. Brennan showed us all up, but we still had fun.
Yes, he just got another strike.
I bowled some, but mostly entertained Heather. Although that didn't take much since she was pretty intrigued by all the bright lights and noise.
Then came the arcade games. Here's the only one where you could involve all 5 Rigby children at once. Basically they got to throw as many balls as quickly as possible at the screen and break items in the candy shop. It was a perfect fit....plus they won us lots of tickets.
Heather was less impressed by this point in the evening though and just ready to go home to her cozy bed.

Big Grins from a 4 Month Old

Not too much happened this week, but we did capture some big grins from Heather. She's now 4 months old and it turns out she's a little ticklish.

P.S. She loves dresses for the main purpose of pulling them up and playing with her belly. Silly girl.

Rolling

I caught Heather testing out her vocal cords this week. What a cutie.

Not only that, but she also practiced rolling over after a little coaching from her proud dad.

The sweet smile of success.

Zoo

Heather and I went to playgroup with the Medical School Spouse Association for a morning stroll at Hogle Zoo. I think I wore her out considering these before and after photos.

Now that daddy's a student doctor, Heather and I will never be healthier from all the practice exams we get to help him out with.

But regardless of how busy life is with school and work we still find time to laugh and play.

All Smiles Around Here

Heather has been all smiles the past month. She is the happiest baby - smiling and cooing and discovering the world around her. That is until she's tired and ready for bed. We're finally into a routine and loving that she is sleeping through the night. Life is wonderful! Brennan is into the full swing of things with school (he has a test every week) and I'm loving being home with Heather and just working part-time. So what has Heather accomplished this past month:
- Smiling
- Laughing
- Cooing
- Sticking out her tongue (she loves it)
- Holding her head up
- Pushing up when laying on her tummy
- Figuring out her hands and sucking her thumb
- Rolling over just once...we're still working on that one

She LOVES her rain forest friends and the swing.
Especially the stuffed animal version of the monkey from her play mat.
She gives it kisses and tries to eat it any time she can.

She is getting so big and l-o-n-g.
We can't wait until her 4 month check-up to see what her stats are.

Her favorite things right now:
big grins
her tongue
her thumb

New Furniture - Yay!

We've talked about getting a sectional for a few years now. Every time we had a lot of people over the conversation would come up again because there was never enough space on the couch for everyone. Besides that I wanted to zone off parts of the room so that the living room was more cozy with a small desk hidden behind the sectional. Well finally we have the sectional and love it. There's so much space to spread out!

The plan was to then move the old couch downstairs and older homes just aren't designed for the size of modern furniture. So to make sure our plan would work I made a miniature model. My dad would be so proud! We came up with a strategy for getting it downstairs and after some brute strength it worked. Thanks go out to Brennan's parents for helping with the move.

And just for fun....This is where I usually find Brennan. Head-down staring at the computer (or a textbook). He's such a hard worker and great student. We're so proud of him. :)
